Post MADtv's 300th Episode: Shocking Returns and Disappointing Absences!

A reliable source has just revealed a skeletal line up for MADtv's impending 300th episode guest cast. As the title suggests, some of you may be shocked at the purported line up, some may be delighted and many will be disappointed. Either way you look at it, it is not what many of us were expecting, to say the least. So far, a longstanding source of mine, affiliated with the FOX network, has provided four names to whet the appetites of eager fans waiting for any bit of information pertaining to the (hopefully) spectacular 300th episode.

As we've known for a few days now, Will Sasso was announced, and confirmed, as returning. In addition to Will, I have learnt that his partner in crime, Alex Borstein will also be putting in an appearance on the November 17th show.

Speaking of partners in crime, would any milestone celebration be complete without Michael McDonald's original counterpart, Mo Collins? It appears not, as she appears to be returning for episode 300 as well.

And as the title suggests, there is a shocking return, the news of which should delight a number of forum regulars. Though this person was not expected to return to the show in any capacity, she appears to have had a change of heart. That's right, the original and best Oprah impressionist will be gracing that MADtv stage once more. At this stage, Debra Wilson is the fourth guest star in the alumni line up.

So there you have it. Whether these four castmembers are the only alumni returning in any capacity remains to be seen. For now, the information available to us suggests that they are, and it brings into question why the likes of such big names in MADtv history are not on the roster. The most notable omissions in my mind, Nicole Sullivan and Stephnie Weir, may be appearing on the show at some point further in the season, or their attendance may be announced in the coming days. Either way you cut it, this is where we stand for now. Additions and retractions are possible, as we await more information from more sources.

Let the discussion begin!

To be honest, the only one I'm surprised at is Nicole, and I think she'll be back, whether it's for episode 300 or another episode of S13. And Debra returning, of course, but that's a pleasant surprise.

Even if Stephnie and Nicole don't return, I think Will, Mo, Debra, and Alex is still a solid line-up. And I still think Nicole is returning. You can't expect EVERYONE to return, after all - the 200th episode had what, 4 or 5 alumni? Not including Orlando's cameo.

Sad to hear Nicole isn't scheduled to be on yet. But I think she has other reasons at this moment including being a mom for the first time.

Zomgad, Debra Wilson is coming back; my life finally has meaning ^_^. In any case I agree that the list of returning alumni is a solid line up. Regardless it would be nice to see Nicole S. and Stephnie make a guest appearance throughout the season even if it's not for the 300th episode.

While Will, Alex, Mo, and Debra are certainly noteworthy inclusions, it just won't be a true "landmark episode" for me unless mah Nicki-Poo is there. All right, Nicole, let us off the hook. Pwetty pweeze wiff sugar on top?

And just where are Melissa Paull and Nelson Ascencio? TREACHERY!

Well... I thought that Debra would be back from the start. Even if she has a riff with the producers, her coming back shows that she's dedicated to the fans. And that's what counts.

As for Nicole S., I wouldn't be surprised to see her at sometime in Season 13- if not on Episode 300.

CELEBRATE 300 EPISODES OF MADNESS WITH FORMER CAST MEMBERS WILL SASSO, ALEX BORSTEIN, MO COLLINS AND DEBRA WILSON ON AN ALL-NEW “MAD TV” SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17, ON FOX

MAD TV celebrates its 300th episode of unrivaled pop-culture parodies and politically incorrect humor. Former cast members Will Sasso, Alex Borstein, Mo Collins and Debra Wilson join in the fun with series regulars Bobby Lee, Michael McDonald, Arden Myrin, Nicole Parker, Jordan Peele, Crista Flanagan and Keegan-Michael Key. Don’t miss this MAD milestone of laughter on the "300th Episode Milestone Special Edition" episode of MAD TV Saturday Nov. 17 (11:00 PM-Midnight ET/PT) on FOX. (MD-1307) (TV-14; D, L, S) CC

Cast: Crista Flanagan, Keegan-Michael Key, Bobby Lee, Michael McDonald, Arden Myrin, Nicole Parker, Jordan Peele.

Guest Cast: Will Sasso, Alex Borstein, Mo Collins and Debra Wilson

No Nicole Sullivan, no Stephnie Weir... but no Daheli Hall, Johnny Sanchez and to a lesser extent, Dan Oster and Anjelah Johnson?! Can't say I'm surprised really, it doesn't seem right to showcase castmembers who have only appeared in 1 or 2 episodes in something like the 300th.

Ugh, no Nicole Sullivan totally sucks, but with her new show & new baby, it's not THAT surprising. At least we get Mo, Alex, Will...and come on guys, we got frikin DEBRA WILSON, who said she'd never appear on the show again! We can't be TOO greedy now. I think Nicole will turn up soon enough, anyway.

I'm kind of glad the newbies won't be in it though - this is an episode to celebrate everyone who helped MADtv make it to Episode #300...the alumni and the veterans.

Default Episode 300

Guest stars for EP 300: Will Sasso, Alex Borstein, Mo Collins, and Debra Wilson!

The burning question: which are the sketches that will be featured on EP 300?

My Guesses
Debra Wilson: Oprah, possibly a Bunifa. As for Whitney Houston, I don't think somehow they'll do it because she's kind of faded out as a star. Besides, it wouldn't be the same without her partner in crime, Bobby Brown.

Will Sasso: Perhaps Bill Clinton (paired with Nicole Parker's Hilary), probably Kenny Rogers, and probably Arnold Schwarzenegger at some point.

Mo Collins: Definitely Doreen (with Michael McDonald's Stuart), definitely Lorraine. There's always a chance that Bambi could return....

Alex Borstein: Definitely Miss Swan.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a return of Michael McLeod and Jasmine Wayne-Wayne.

From the current cast, we'll probably see McDonald's Stuart, Keegan's Coach Hines, Nicole Parker's Hilary Clinton (with Will Sasso as Bill), Nicole Parker's Ellen DeGeneres (perhaps even featured in an Oprah Winfrey sketch). Jordan Peele and Bobby Lee will also probably be quite heavily featured.

But I think EP 300's a night that will belong to the veterans only. I doubt relative newcomers such as Arden, Crista, and even the gang who began in S9 will get much airtime. I think it will really be a showcase of MadTV veterans and alumni.

This is very true indeed especially about Debra Wilson; getting her to guest star on the show after she said she wanted nothing to do with MADtv is a goldmine right there.

Yeah...I wasn't sure whether to post it here or not; it's all speculation (educated guesses) so I didn't know if it was "Front Page" material.

But if it's on the front page, and one of the producers happens to see it...well, I hope he takes my speculation as advice and gets the writing staff to write out the sketches that I mentioned.

Anyways, even if S13 is bad, we've got an excellent Episode 300 to look forward. It's too bad Nicole Sullivan isn't there- but I'd be willing to bet that by the end of the season, Nicole will have appeared once or twice on MadTV.

In response to wonder - I'm sure Alex will do Swan, Will will do Kenny Rogers, Mo will do Lorraine and Doreen, and Debra will do Oprah. I also wouldn't be surprised at all to see Alex as Rosie considering all of the press she's gotten lately. Maybe Oprah as Bunifa and possibly Whitney. I wouldn't be surprised to see a sketch about her so-called "comeback".

I don't know about the actual cast - but I think they'll get a decent amount of airtime - at least, the more popular ones, like Nicole P, Crista, Keegan, and Bobby.

Enough with the returning of former castmembers! Time to do some funny, current sketches and characters. I'm tired of the show reminiscing about how hilarious it used to be. Show us something funny and NEW!!!

I think what he might be saying is, why focus on having the 300th episode be about things and people from the past when they could make it fun and hilarious and interesting and celebrate by showing something fresh and new and now and give the audience a great taste of what the future holds instead of living in the past.

Living in the past is like saying "this is how funny the show USED to be. These are the people who USED to make the show funny. The show sucks now and so do the people and we have no faith in their ability to retain the crowds the old timers used to so we have to bring them back to show the current cast how much they suck"
