Crista and Ike "Meet the Spartans"
Ike Barinholtz may be gone from "MADtv"; but he and current "MADtv" cast member Crista Flanagan will soon be appearing together in a new comedy film, Hunting and Fishing, slated for a 2008 release. Granted, Hunting and Fishing itself may be new; nevertheless, it comes to us via the same, old assembly line as the sequel-happy Scary Movie series of films. Still, one supposes that in "MADtv" circles, these things actually count as progress. Observant Crista fans will note that the film's directors, Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, directed her earlier this year in Epic Movie. Hunting and Fishing will mark Ike's first gig with the dynamic directing duo, and what better post-"MADtv" launch into A-list fame could Ike ask for than the anonymously titled character "Prophet #1"? As for Crista's character, it is being billed as "Ugly Betty/Spartan Girl." When one considers that other characters in Hunting and Fishing are named "Ryan Seacrest," "Sanjaya," and "K-Fed," one wonders if Crista's "Ugly Betty" has anything in common with the eponymous character of the ABC television series. Unfortunately (or fortunately), we have no way to gauge since additional details are not known at this time. Cue the broken record: stay tuned for further updates!

Ok so obviously it must be the same studio that keeps making these date movie, epic movie, etc movies. How the hell do they keep getting funding?

Holy Crap that was hilarious! I don't know why it made you sad, but there's no shame in being in a comedy like that....its what she's good at.

I think that trailer was hilarious. The movie is probably bad otherwise though. These spoofs are going down hill. And I say that as someone who used to love them.

Not another teen movie was funny I thought. The only non Scary Movie spoof that I liked.

Looks like "Meet the Spartans" is the new title of "Hunting and Fishing", which means we can add Nicole Parker to the list of reasons to suffer through it.

Based on this picture, it seems Ike will be reprising his Dane impression, and, in addition to Britney, Nicole appears to be some sort of Paris Hilton ogre (redundant much?):

i'll go see it at the movies when it comes out,then post in here about the decline of spoof movies and how not another teen movie was the best in recent memory and how date movie/epic movie and this movie are all the same and repeat the same jokes
