Season 12 is just around the corner, and as always, cast changes will be announced.
Frank Caliendo announced his eventual departure several times, so naturally, after 5 years on the show, he will not be returning for season 12. Also, in a not-so-surprising turn of events, it appears season 11 was the last we will see of Daniele Gaither, as she has been let go by the show's producers. So far, these are the only departing castmembers we are aware of. Other departures are said to be possible, but not likely, according to our source. More updates, including new castmembers, will be announced when the information becomes available. Best of luck to Frank and Daniele in their future endevours! |

I am not surprised by either one. I KNEW that Daniele was gonna get cut and I called it about half way through the season. She just wasn't being given any airtime and many of her prime celebrity impressions were being taken over by Nicole RJ. When I met her a couple of years ago at CIF, she was bubbly and friendly and this year she seemed quiet and reserved and barely participated in any improvs. I think she knew deep down as well. It sucks cuz I liked her and prefer her to Nicole RJ. I think a lot of us figured Frank was on his way out as well based on what he has said. To me, they were two of the better cast members, so it's sad but not surprising.

Yeah this is not a surprise to me either. You could hardly tell Daniele was apart of the cast during alot of season 11. It's not such a bummer for me, seeing I didn't particularly like her, although she did have her moments (Yvoone Criddle). Nicole Randall Johnson is really funny and I'm pretty sure she'll be promoted. She'll be a great replacement as the sassy black castmember. As for Frank.. THANK GOD! Seriously he totally overstayed on the show. He has pretty much never impressed me during his 5 year stay. Okay, he's not funny. He was probably worse than Ike this year, I was so sick of Frank. So yay

That's what happens when the producers' idea of funny castmembers is "Ike and Bobby".
![]() It does suck, because Daniele was very very very good IMO, but it was clear that Nicole RJ would ultimately out-shine Daniele if they BOTH were to stay a couple more years. Right now, I do like Daniele over Nicole RJ, but I'm pretty confident that will change over the next few seasons. (Although Nicole has been a little better than Daniele was during her FP year, IMO) As for Frank's departure, that one completely caught me off guard. ![]() I've known since the end of S10 that S11 would be his final year. Overall, S11 wasn't his best year, but he's had his moments. One HUGE concern I'm having is who will replace him as the main impressionist on the show, and if he'll be any good or not, and most importanly if they can find anyone that can do at least a half-decent Bush impression (maybe Frank Caeti, although I doubt it).And it's a DAMN shame that Daniele was fired and Arden wasn't.

Aha! I knew both Danielle and Nicole wouldn't come back. One of them had to go, but too bad Danielle kind of got ignored when Nicole came on. Maybe there was a reason there was never more than one black female in the cast.

Sad to see them leave but I guess for Frank we all knew it would happen and thats kinda the same for Danielle. They were both great on the show and had good runs. I think 5 years is the ideal amount of time for someone to be on the show before getting overused unless you are Mo or Nicole S. 2 and a half years is also pretty sweet of a deal. Danielle did awesome and some castmembers only get 1 season or less so she did alright.
Heres to hoping no one can do a good George Bush impression so the next season is less political. I hope that next season is more character based and less impressions. I think its better to create diffeent ways characters can be put in situations rather than actual people from real life. Frank Caeti said himself he is more of a character person than an impressioniust which sound good if you ask me. __________________ We All Go A Little MAD Sometimes... Poor Daniele. I figured if they gave Nicole and Daniele equal air time, they might both have a chance of coming back. However, considering she was non-existent until about episode #1117, I think almost everyone concluded that she wouldn't be returning. I liked her in season 10, but she was never consistently good. She was usually consistently average or poor with the occassional funny performance. Nicole RJ is much more impressive in my opinion.

Yeah, I sort of expected Daniele to be leaving. She wasn't as good as some of the others on the show, but some of her roles were good. The producers could have used her more often during the last season.

I don't really care that Frank is gone, but I'm bummed to see Daniele leave. She's had a lot of good moments, in my opinion. Then again Nicole has been very impressive this past season, so I wouldn't want her gone either. I don't see why they couldn't have kept them both. Pretty sad, really.

I'm not going to celebrate until the season premiere in September when the opening credits come on.
Then I'll be celebrating the departure of the most overhyped cast member in MADtv's history. |

Dang- I'm sad about Daniele leaving. [Caution, white apologist liberal rant ahead...] why is it that there is no room for two black female cast members? There is room for two black dudes, and for three white women, and sky's the limit for the number of white dudes...
Mostly, I'm sad because she brought something good to the show aside from the color of her skin. Sure, she was a bit one-dimensional (no more than Ms. Myrin), but when she was on, she was on. Am I the only one that thinks that she ROUTINELY upstaged Keegan in all and every "Jorge" skit? good bye, Yolanda. Good bye, Dillie May. **sigh** |

Anyone else have a feeling that Nicole Parker won't be back either? If her Broadway show is successful, she will be in New York. How would she be able to do both the play and MADtv tapings, which are across the US from each other? It doesn't add up. I guess we'll see.

I think that producers of MADtv would be crazy not to try and incorporate Nicole in some way. They've got some Season 11 leftovers, and I'm sure they'll get her on her off days and film as many sketches as possible. They know that Nicole is too good to let go. Arden and Crista can't hold up, but Nicole RJ possibly take the place of Nicole. MAD women have always been strong, and it would be hard to fill both Daniele and Nicole's shoes. Season 12 would be dim if Jordan, Nicole RJ, and Frank Caeti were the only reasons to tune in.

I'm almost always wrong when it comes to predictions, but I don't think they'd let Daniele go if Nicole P wasn't coming back. Going into a season with only 3 relatively new female faces isn't a smart idea and I'm sure the producers know it.
As far as Daniele is concerned; she was always weak in my opinion. I always root for the underdog, so I had a soft spot for her, but I don't think she was ever a strong castmember. I wouldn't have cared if Arden was let go either, but I'll give her a pass because she's only been a season. She might prove herself in the future, but Daniele had 3 years and didn't. So yeah. __________________ What happened to Andrae?

I think they would be stupid to let Nicole Parker go as well, but MADtv has made quite a few really poor decisions in the past and they are known for being extremely cheap. I kinda doubt they'd pay for her plane fare back and forth from New York to LA, but I could be wrong. MADtv tapes on Fridays and I'm sure Nicole has performances on both Thursday and Friday, so I don't see how she could be in both places at once. In addition, they aren't known for being extremely accomodating for cast members who want to work on other projects. We'll see, but that is my gut feeling.
