MADtv is nominated as "Outstanding Comedy Variety Series" in the BET Comedy Awards along with "Chappelles Show", "Club ComicView", "Coming to the Stage" and "Jamie Kennedy Experiment". Here's a summary of the show from bet.com:

First it was the creation four years ago of the annual BET AWARDS. Now the network works its magic again in what will be the biggest salute to the funniest of funny. Join BET for the first-ever BET COMEDY AWARDS presentation. Categories include Best Comedy Movie, Best Comedian, Best Actress in a Comedy Series and many more. The show will also feature the funniest comics, red-hot musical performances and tributes to the greatest names in comedy.

This show will air Tuesday, September 28th at 9pm EST and then an "encore" presentation again on Tuesday, October 12th at 9pm EST. No need to mark you calendars, because the most important calendar is already marked.

Coming to the Stage and Comicview are BET shows, so they're obviously going to be high on the list. Jaiime Kennedy was cancelled earlier, so I doubt that will win. My guess is Chappelle's Show (even though all he does is yell "bitch" in every other sketch ).

I kept watching that show after MADtv lost, and Chapelle's Show won for best writing. Why? This show has terrible writers... bitch!

Dave Chappelle is overrated? That is the dumbest thing I have heard thus far...read, rather. This guy pushes the envelope, increasing the folds and so on. It's a racially-driven show, which might turn some people off.

Excuse me for saying that was the dumbest thing I read thus far. I was just a little taken back by that comment. Chappelle's Show, compared to the competition, is light years ahead in new-age comedy. Reason; It focuses on certain ethnic groups and tears them to shreads. Litterally vivisecting everything society stands for.

Madtv does the same thing....to a certain point. You can't go overboard, otherwise Rupert Murdock would cancelled that show in a heart beat. It is a basic television channel, which means it has limits. Move Madtv to cable, and I would bet you'd see as much raunch in an episode as you would read in the magazine.

and how the HELL can you revolutionise the word "bitch"? Dave still uses it like any other person would. He didn't change the meaning of the word simply by saying it a lot. That's like putting him among the ranks of a Socrates, a Franklin, or even a Charlotte Corday. And I can garuntee you, he ain't a revolutionist by simply saying "bitch" frequently.

Sorry if I went a bit overbrow, but I can be a purist at times.
