Last Call w/ Carson Daly
Did anyone else tune in to watch this, only to see an "In lieu of Carson Daly, NBC presents a rerun of SCTV" marquee scroll across the bottom of the screen? Or am I the only one? Or, am I only one who watches late night TV period? :p Could it have been canned already? I was a little shocked to see SCTV after all the Carson promotion NBC has been doing over the past few weeks and all the pimping they forced Conan to do tonight.

It'll be on in an hour here, so i'll see. (Conan is plugging Carson's show right now, Is this the only reason his show is new tonight? Conan usually has reruns on Monday)
I'm a huge Conan fan, but ever since Mad tv started coming on at midnight, I haven't been watching his show as much.

Weird. I don't really know what time anything is supposed to be on now that I have satellite. All I know is that I can watch the same episode of Conan up to 3 different times a night, making plenty of room for MAD at midnight.

Did you see episode 412 tonight? The one with the brisotine,the Saturn commercial, and the oral sex sketch with Michael and Nicole? I think the same syndicated episodes run all over the U.S.(i'm not talking about the TNN ones) do you see the same ones in Canada?

Same thing here. SCTV with the "in lieu of.." scroll. I wonder what happened. His guest was supposed to be Alicia Keys.

Nope. Oh well. I bet Conan will have something to say about it tomorrow, and hopefully Carson will offer up an explanation on his show, assuming it actually does air.

Here are two posts from the Conan newsgroup that shed a bit of light:
"I emailed the local station last night and they replied with this: NBC did not deliver the Carson Daly program last night. Sometime around 8pm (PST) NBC advised they may not deliver the show and ended up replacing it with SCTV. We have no information on the reason or if we will have the show for air tonight." - and - "A statement from NBC says a contract dispute arose **after** the taping of the episode. They can;t say when the show will be on, but no taping is likely to happen today. That Carson Daly. He's a Massive Tool." __________________

That's weird. You'd think they'd have all that sorted out before they started running promos. I wish they'd just show re-runs of that Friday night show with comedians.
